Community co-creation + resilience
Co-creation and resilience practices in and for community
Course description
Institutions, groups and organizations are preparing for an uncertain future fuelled in part by technological, demographic, economic and political change. This is a process within the organization that can involve creating and strengthening ties to those outside the organization and of building resilience. In forming and strengthening bonds, people create social networks that can turn into community.
Within the parameters of the systems in which we work, the capacity for resilience is becoming a key competency. The quality of self-management directly affects the quality of collaboration, co-creation and learning.
People understand that change and sustainability go hand in hand. Being sustainable requires knowing how to interpret signals to adapt to the external environment.
Rediscover and reaffirm your connection with inner and outer values and perspectives, be challenged to take a wider view of situations and how you manage them. Increase the quality of your listening and the awareness of the assumptions you make. As you do so, you begin to ask new questions.
We support participants to:
Reclaim the joy of learning together within system limitations
Rebuild trust in oneself and in others
Facilitate positive relationships key to attaining good results
Our aim is to teach participants how to:
Grow individual and collective resilience within and between institutions, groups, organizations
Reclaim the joy of learning together within system parameters
Rebuild trust in oneself and others
Create generative space where everybody shines
Facilitate positive relationships
Methodology
This course is highly experiential, practical and interactive based on scientific research and the extensive use of practical tools. We use a combination of techniques in order to help you adapt them to your own temperament and style. Intercultural diversity and the context of the external environment become resources we work with to create tools for connection. The variety and combination of elements in each workshop is unique.
We hold space to allow the collective potential and intelligence of the group to emerge. Participants may come from different groups and organizations. The commonality among the participants is the desire to know each other and to strengthen ties between each other and among groups. Working together, the development of a community can be supported in a sustainable way.
The course builds on proven methods for positive change:
Appreciative Inquiry
Mindfulness and Embodied Self-leadership
Sociocratic Elements
Collaborative Change Processes
Action Learning
Organisational Systemic Constellations (Representations)
Systemic approach to change management
The participants receive a toolkit of methods transferable to their professional settings.

Benefits
This course offers practical tools to build resilience through individual and collective learning to face challenges and change. Participants learn generative perspective as a means to deal with challenging situations. These skills are applied to community-building, that is, building of sustainable social and working relationships with others outside one’s own group or organization.
When the participants come from different organizations, the workshop facilitates the strengthening of ties between the participants and among the organizations represented. This can be the start of a new network or community.
We can grow trust and self-trust in times of immense societal change using proven methods that build resilient and appreciative perception, reflection and action.
Using processes that invoke the collective intelligence in the room, we capture and harvest our insights and make our learning visible at individual, organizational, and ecosystemic levels. Our holistic processes helps you see more of the complexity in which your organisation and community operates.
The participants gain:
Insights into the theoretical foundations of systemic appreciative approaches, solution-focused methods, and participative tools for supervision and coaching.
A map of the current situation of the organization or individuals (skills, output capacity, organization and personal effectiveness, adequacy of available resources).
The opportunity to practice in a variety of different techniques, new perspectives and alternative ways of dealing with urgent and important issues.
A chance to try out a reflective and flexible coaching role as an observer or as supervisor/coach and supervisee/coachee (developing a positive perspective).
